at noon on Thursday.
POINTS of DISCUSSION
("MMS" = "Media Management System")
----------------------------------------------------------------------
MMS Requirements (DRAFT, Sam Coleman)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sam was unable to attend this meeting. In his place, the group
reviewed the requirements through section 3, and Geoff captured changes
in a version "5.1".
After completing part of the review, the group revised its release
target for the Requirements slightly to February 1st, recognizing that
meeting the target depends on a lot of review and re-writing after the
meeting.
The group agreed on a common set of "terms" it uses in the
Requirements and Architecture documents.
Data Model (Curtis Anderson)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Curtis, with contributions from Joel and Geoff, produced a revised
presentation of the OpenVault data model. After reviewing a third or so
of the new document, much of the group felt that a detailed examination
could better take place offline.
MMS Architecture (DRAFT, Geoff Peck)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This was a review of a slightly newer version of the draft of the
MMS architecture document, to include the common set of terms accepted
earlier in the meeting.
The group is determined to polish this document sufficiently to
permit public inspection and comment by end of the March meeting.
Language Requirements
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, there was very little in-meeting discussion on the topic.
IEEE Project Authorization Requests (PARs)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
PARs will be developed and submitted before the February 6th deadline
for approval at the March 19th Standards Board meeting:
P1244.1 Standard for Media Management System (MMS) Architecture
