The IEEE approved four (Architecture, MMP, DMP, LMP) of the first five Media Management System (MMS) standards on June 21, 2000, and the fifth (SSAIP) on December 7, 2000.

SSSWG is working on other projects for tape driver semantics and self-describing data on tape,
the
Guide for Storage System Design,
and further MMS standards.
